Privacy & Cookie Notice
Last updated: 28 September 2026
This notice explains what personal information Brooks & Burge Films collects when you visit our website or get in touch with us, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it. It's written to be short and plain rather than dense legal wording — if anything isn't clear, just ask.

What information we collect
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, phone number, and anything else you tell us when you enquire by email, phone, WhatsApp or our website, for example details about your wedding, brand or event.
- Information collected automatically — when you visit our website, we (via Google Analytics) collect technical and usage information such as pages viewed, how you found the site, device and browser type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. This only happens if you consent to analytics cookies.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss or deliver a booking — necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, and to perform that contract once you've booked us.
- To understand how people use our website and improve it — based on your consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To keep accounting and business records — necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
We don't use your information for automated decision-making, and we never sell it to anyone.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file placed on your device that helps a website work, or collects information about how it's used. When you first visit our site, you'll see a cookie banner (provided by CookieYes) where you can choose which types of cookies to allow. You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie preferences in the footer of any page.
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed to run the website and remember your cookie preferences. These can't be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (GA4), which shows us how the site is used so we can improve it. These only run once you've given consent.
Who we share your information with
- Google (Google Analytics), where you've consented to analytics cookies.
- CookieYes, our cookie-consent provider, which records your consent choice.
- Showit, our website hosting platform.
- Our email and messaging tools (for example WhatsApp Business), when you choose to contact us that way.
We don't share your information with anyone else, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't turn into a booking — kept for a reasonable period in case you get back in touch, then deleted.
- Booking and client records — kept as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (currently up to 7 years).
- Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics according to Google's own retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict, or object to, how we use it
- ask for your information in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time (for anything based on consent, like analytics cookies), without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it
To use any of these rights, email [email protected].
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we only keep it for as long as we actually need it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
